Welcome to our little corner of the internet. This will be a space for me (Brana) and my partner Ross to write about our journey with our beautiful daughter Evie. There’s a special type of magic that Evie seems to exude, and it would be totally unfair not to share snippets of that with the world. Evie was born at 39 weeks + 2 days on the last day of July in 2021 during a heatwave. We found out that Evie had Down syndrome when I was 16 weeks pregnant and despite the multiple health concerns they kept discovering on every scan, we were so excited to welcome this special little girl into our lives. It’s been a rollercoaster since then, but we wouldn’t change a thing.
After weeks of so much uncertainty and heartache, we finally received some good news in the form of an extra chromosome. Our little baby has Down syndrome 🧡

The rest of our family is made up of 3 dogs (border collie crosses – Arya, Loki and Sadie) and 2 cats (Freya and Lola, both found as stray kittens). We live on the west coast of Ireland and bought our house in November 2021. We do plan on adding some chickens and maybe some rabbits to our menagerie. During the first lockdown we bought a 2014 VW Crafter and converted it into a camper van ourselves. With Evie’s extra medical needs it might be a bit tricky to go on trips this summer but we will make it work!
